I am pleasantly surprised that the NY Times ed board — not exactly a populist voice! — on this specific point appears to understand the meaning of this moment & appears to be throwing shade at corporate Dems trying to weaponize the situation for their ideological project.

Establishment Dems are insisting the anti-incumbent wave in blue districts is pointless because the districts are already Dem. But the opposite is true: The wins scare every Dem incumbent. It tells them rhetorical liberalism is no longer enough - they must deliver results or they'll lose their job.

🔥"Establishment Dems refuse to acknowledge anything is wrong that Trump’s departure won’t fix. This is ludicrous....I’ve seen writers lament progressive victories as 'taking on their own party' as opposed to fighting Trump. This is bullshit." Courageous piece from @reedgalen.bsky.social
GOP & corporate Dems criticizing socialism are refusing to detail which of America's socialist programs they want repealed. Do they want to end Medicare & Social Security? Public parks? Subways? It's time for these clout-chasers to start explaining what exactly they want.
