So, this is new: on March 17th, some loon amended the SAVE America Act to eliminate most mail-in voting altogether, plus add in some crazy unrelated anti-trans stuff. “A State shall require an individual to vote in person,” with very limited exceptions. 1/2 www.congress.gov/amendment/11...

I’m also reposting the second part of @jennycohn.bsky.social ‘s summary, because it’s important to know that the SAVE Act requires states to submit voter rolls to the Department of Homeland Security, which can apparently purge anyone they want by claiming they haven't proved their citizenship. 1/3

This was posted about a month ago, but I just ran across it now. Since Minneapolis isn’t as front-page at the moment, it seems like a good idea to post a reminder of what’s still going on in ICE detention/deportations, much of which is illegal.

I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it. I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.” 1/

An ICE lawyer says the agency has stopped training cadets in the legal use of deadly force, among other terrible decisions. He resigned so he could speak up.

Good. And I hope someone did some careful documentation of the images locals added to the empty spaces (see photo in article) while we all waited for the TrumpAdmin to fix what they broke.

Workers began restoring an exhibit on the lives of the nine people once enslaved by George Washington at the former President's House in Philadelphia amid a contentious legal fight between the city and the Trump administration.
