I think they've got the balance right now. Their message is that without a healthy climate, nothing else fits. A healthy economy & healthy population all comes from creating a healthy environment.

Tricky position. Hopefully a bit of gentle education will turn a light on.... I found a HBHM larva yesterday, so that's my post for today, together with the importance of growing Lady's Bedstraw.

Not totally sure, but maybe Cotesia Glomerata.

....taken from @greenparty.org.uk manifesto...

Indeed... 😑

Eeek, ignorance can be so dangerous....

🤣I think we all have ..

Thanks very much. My aim is to try & emulate a microcosm of the natural world in my wildlife garden, with little interference from me & just a bit of dabbling at the edges to maximise biodiversity & enhance ecosystems, when it's needed.

Great to see food plant diversification Ben. It's the fussier feeders that are more vulnerable to numbers decline. "Eggs....one basket..".etc

Spiky & spectacular. 🐛☺️

Oh yes Lizi. As, in so many incidents, so say "weeds" (wildflowers) host/feed/nurture so many wild souls. I was watching a HBHM adult laying eggs on the Lady's Bedstraw in our no-mow lawn this week. It's a sacred plant, as far as I'm concerned. Well done you, for leaving it be. 🙌🐛

You've hit the nail on the head. We should think less about our pockets & more about future-proofing the natural world - which is priceless..

Yup, a*garden*can conjure up images of manicured lawns & neat beds. This isn't what my wildlife garden is like & I can see that yours isn't either - hurrah! I sometimes call it my "outside space". It's planted & planned to benefit wildlife, but I wanted it to accommodate a bit of future-proofing too

Well, as long as the water isn't wasted, that's the main thing....🙏💧

We use eco washing up liquid, so it doesn't harm the plants or soil. To collect shower water, just add a wide container, like a trug when you shower.

010

Well done you. 🙌 We're the same. We have 10 water butts & are always thinking of new ways to save/collect water.

Thank you so much for the link you sent me Debbie. I'm going to have a really good look later. 🙏☺️

It's the only way to help keep the garden plants going in the summer months now....🔥

010

Same here. I'm going to ask for my money back on my rain dancing classes...

010

Did it rain? 💧💧
