It was good to go on a couple of day trips out from Bergen, exploring waterfalls and towns along the way. #photography #landscapephotography #photographers

Beautiful grass patterns from the coast of Norway a few weeks back. This is when you see the benefits of a big camera over a phone, and my Nisi polarising filter to reduce reflections on the water and accentuate the deep blackness in the background. #fsprintmonday #photography #photographers

Join me for a blether over a glass of wine tomorrow evening at the RIAS, Rutland Sq. Edinburgh, and to see a couple of pieces I have in the exhibition from the Scottish Society of Architect Artists. Free entry, all welcome. 6.30pm. #photography #landscapephotography #photographers

It’s not often the first photo of the day, never mind a trip, is worth editing, but here’s one where I had a couple of seconds to grab the camera and shoot. No time to think or adjust settings, just click and hope. From Oslo harbour. #fsprintmonday #photography #landscapephotography #photographers

There’s some amazing architecture around Oslo, though this wasn’t one of my favourites. It’s the Munch museum, comprising several galleries of his work, and leans over the harbour as if about to fall into the water. #photography #landscapephotography #photographers #norway

They don’t do Commonwealth Opening Ceremonies like this any more. I was in the B team but the tv directors decided that as we were the younger team they would focus a little more on us than expected - after all it was the “games of youth”! Please say I haven’t changed a bit, those that can spot me 😂

A fascinating read, showing that fire, and subsequent regeneration is a very common theme in Edinburgh, and Princes Street in particular.

Two weeks ago a devastating fire gutted part of the former Debenhams department store. This thread looks at the history of those premises and also of other conflagrations that have broken out on… https://threadinburgh.scot/2026/07/23/up-in-smoke-the-thread-about-princes-streets-fiery-history/

Buoys of Bergen. Wandering the many quaysides of Bergen in the early morning fog was really interesting, with multi million dollar super yachts tucked in beside the oil support ships and trawlers, and all the detritus that goes with them. #photography #landscapephotography #photographers

We drove to the most northerly tip of an archipelago west of Bergen last week, crossing 12 islands en route and at the end of the road at a place called Rubbegarnståna på Hellesøy, was a puddle by the sea, filled with delightful grasses. #fsprintmonday #sharemondays2026 #photography #photographers

Just a quick snap from the coastal path, but the Cornish beaches were absolutely fantastic. Looks positively Mediterranean to the extent that my mobile even connected to a Spanish phone mast! #photography #landscapephotography #photographers

Nice and cool down the Geevor Tin Mine, but some photo opportunities with the iPhone on the surface. #appicoftheweek #elementsphotomag #outdoorphotographymagazine

It looked like Porthleven harbour was inaccessible with silt and mud when the tide was out but actually it was firm sand, and I went exploring the boats for half an hour with the bright colours really standing out more than the textures this time. #photography #landscapephotography #photographers

I know they say the lanes round here are narrow but this was getting a bit tight! #cornwall

After my trip into the garden with the camera last week, I found a few more flower photos I hadn’t even edited. From earlier this year when the forget-me-nots were still out. #photography #photographers

Not been very far with the camera this week so I ventured out into the garden to find something for the weekly competitions, which reminds me, the Close Up Awards deadline is coming up fast! Need to get my act together . . #sharemondays2026 #photography #photographers
