A new thing learned today, I didn't know about this ships

RAF Air Defence Radar Museum

One of these was Geoff Larkby, a BBC engineer who found himself recruited into the RAF to help establish sites (such as ours) before setting up the 3 Fighter Direction Tenders. These ships were floating radar stations to coordinate the thousands of aircraft and warn of incoming air raids.
