John Hannon and I share our own commentaries about EPA's move to repeal the 2009 greenhouse gas endangerment finding. Both John and I were members of the EPA team that developed the 2009 finding. bendeangelo.substack.com/p/american-t...

American taxpayers and current and future generations deserve betterOur EPA decrees it has no authority to regulate greenhouse gases with already-rejected arguments, creativity under the Clean Air Act, and with no basis to invalidate the 2009 endangerment finding.bendeangelo.substack.com

Today's EPA statement says that the endangerment finding was overreach by the Obama Admin. Actually, this process dates back to 1999 when EPA was petitioned to regulate GHGs under the Clean Air Act. That led to 2007 Mass v EPA Supreme Court decision which directed EPA to make a science-based finding

Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, we’ll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate change—all so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.

I'm quoted in this Politico article about the pending repeal of EPA's 2009 GHG endangerment finding which I had a large hand in. We shall see to what extent EPA makes scientific arguments in the repeal. EPA's proposal didn't have compelling scientific justification www.politico.com/news/2026/02...

Trump EPA to take its biggest swing yet against climate change rulesWith its plans to revoke the endangerment finding, the administration is gambling that the Supreme Court will allow it to completely avoid regulating the nation’s top greenhouse gas sources.www.politico.com

This EPA decided not to count benefits of pollution controls. No quantified accounting for avoided morbidity and mortality. This abandons decades of cost-benefit practice, economics and science. Claims that $ benefits estimates are too uncertain don't hold water theconversation.com/epas-new-way...

EPA’s new way of evaluating pollution rules hands deregulators a sledgehammer and license to ignore public healthIn the world of cost benefit analysis, if an impact isn’t monetized, it doesn’t exist. A former EPA official explains what’s changing now and why it matters.theconversation.com
